Hand sanitizer on the trek is great, but every now and then you need to wash your hands. An old pair of nylons cut with a bar of soap put inside and VIOLA! Soap on a Rope! Now tie this to your 5 gallon water jug and you have a hand washing station. The other 5 gallon jug will be used for powdered drinks (Gatorade type) added to your water. If you want more help with this simple project, look HERE.
I was up at 5 a.m. this morning watching the sun rise and working on a trek project thinking that this time next week we will be in our pioneer clothes and ready to reenact part of our pioneer heritage. WOW! What a great experience we are all in for! I hope you are all excited! ALL IN!

ONE WEEK - until equipment check
Based on the current forest conditions please get the word out to the Ma's and Pa's if not already done that we will be needing to use propane stoves and not open fires. You will be cooking 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners. Keep in mind that you are allowed to bring a lantern or two, too. Plan your propane accordingly. THANKS!

The Count Down is ON!
I am sure you are all ready for the Trek.
It is in 16 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does this picture ring any bells? Don't forget that every Ma/Pa needs to create a chant/cheer/ joke/ top 10 list/ or a fun way to introduce yourself to ALL of the YOUTH! Did you remember? Let me remind you what will happen. After we get off the bus in Happy Jack, AZ, we will then divide the youth into families. Each MA/PA will be introduced one at a time by the Stake Leader announcing. At that point YOU will do your cheer, then the 6 young men and 6 young women will be announced and placed in your family. Then we will do it again with the next Ma/Pa. It is a great ice breaker and wakes up the youth too! Have fun with this!Lastly, I want to remind you that every Ma and Pa and lots of Stake Leaders are needed at the Equipment Check Tuesday night, July 12 at the Stake Center at 5 p.m. I know that is early for a lot of priesthood leaders, so I need every Ma and Pa to let me know if they can be at the Stake Center at 5 p.m. Please email Audra or respond in the comment section. Thanks for your help!
Here is the suggested schedule for the youth to come to the Equipment Check:
TREK CHECK IN: July 12th 5pm-7pm Registration & Equipment Check In- at the Stake Center
5:00 pm - NC, GP
5:30 pm - DM, PV
6:00 pm - DV, NV. RG
6:30 pm - AN, BR
We need Ma's and Pa's there from 4:45 p.m. - 7 p.m., not just at their wards time slot. Okay? Just wanting to clear things up. Ma's and Pa's should bring their supplies that night as well if possible. The bulk of the trailers with supplies will be going up before the buses.
Thanks everyone!

Post Mini Trek
THANK YOU
to all of the many Ma's and Pa's that attended the mini trek!
We had a great training with great leaders, Cooks, Captains and our wonderful Trail Bosses. Let's not forget our WONDERFUL logistic leaders! THANK YOU! This weekend would not have been the success that is was without all of the wonderful people involved.
ONE LAST THANK YOU to our hosts, the McCrery's. They just plain ROCK!
Now, let's take a moment and post a comment about lessons learned. - What did you take away from this mini trek? This was our Stake's first time doing this and we love feedback!
- What items would you like to see us add to the Ma/Pa supply list? (I already have a few thoughts, but I want to hear from you.)
- What was your highlight of this training?
I really enjoyed Brother Smith's wrap up comments and thought I would direct you to the Conference talk that he quoted from HERE. Enjoy!

MINI - TREK
This upcoming weekend is the mini-trek.
Everyone needs to show up at 4 p.m. on Friday at the Anthem Park 'n Ride. THIS IS A CHANGE, so please take note.
Please show up wearing your pioneer clothes and bringing your individual bucket and bed roll. Only the Sessions, Kuefers, Koffords, and Griffths are bringing the FULL MA/PA supply list. We will all carpool from the park 'n ride.
Come prepared to be uplifted and inspired through a small sampling of what the real trek will be like. We have a FULL SCHEDULE PLANNED and will not be back to Phoenix until Saturday at 6 p.m.
