Clothing Tips

It has been more than a week since the Ma/Pa Kickoff and the question of the week is:
How is the Pioneer Clothing Hunt going?
Please let us know by commenting on this private blog.  Simply click the comment button at the bottom of this post.  I double dog dare you!

Here are a few hints:
  1. There are many websites with free patterns.  A few are listed in the sidebar to the right.  Go ahead.  Check it out.
  2. A button down men's shirt can easily be made into a pioneer shirt by flipping the collar inside the neckline, cut off the part that in not showing and sewing it up!  Great tip from Lisa Reber.
  3. Don't forget there are lots of Ma's and Pa's that went 3 years ago in our Stake.  If you want to borrow an outfit or two, let me know and I would be happy to send you a few names to contact.
If you have a great clothing tip or website to share or even if you have a question, leave a comment!  THANKS and HAPPY HUNTING!

Keep in mind bloomers can be PJ bottoms that you adjust to bloomers
and button down shirts can have collars flipped to look like a pioneer shirt.
DO YOU WANT TO SAVE TIME?  There are plenty of sites on the internet you can
purchase the items.  Of course this is the more expensive way.

  •  Check Ma/Pa Training agenda to see which ward your are assigned to visit.
  1.  Call other Ma/Pa to coordinate which date each couple will advertise in that ward.  Don’t show up the same day!  (see page 9 of Ma/Pa handbook for contact numbers and emails of Ma/Pa couples)
  2. Call YM/YW Presidents and let them know you are coming.
  3. Please make sure that EACH ward hears about the Kickoff Firside TWO TIMES before Feb.     27th!
It would be AWESOME if you could advertise in full pioneer gear, but if not that’s okay too.  Just be enthusiastic and do something fun!  Really promote the trek and how excited you are to go and what a great opportunity and experience this will be for our Stake.
